Batman v Superman is complete

A first complete cut is to be screened for the film’s composers tomorrow.

In a tweet today, one of the two composers of the hotly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has confirmed they are seeing the film tomorrow (April 8).

Junkie XL, whose real name is Tom Holkenberg and who is widely known for his producing work, is working with renowned composer Hans Zimmer on the score for the new film, and his tweet today certainly suggests that a first cut of the film is ready to roll, just under a year before it is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on 23 March 2016. Co-composer Zimmer, who scored both Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy as well as 2013’s Man of Steel, has previously said that he is predominantly working on the scores for Superman, whereas Junkie XL will be responsible for the Batman-centric aspects of the score.

XL’s previous soundtrack credits include 300: Rise of an Empire and Divergent, the prequel to 2015’s Insurgent and he has also produced the soundtrack for this year’s Mad Max: Fury Road, to which the first trailer for Batman v Superman will be attached to when it opens on 14 May 2015. He previously tweeted that the trailer will contain original music scored by he and Zimmer.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
