At a press conference held today, December 4 2014, on the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios, the title of the 24th James Bond film, and Daniel Craig’s fourth consecutive Bond adventure, was revealed as SPECTRE.
Returning director Sam Mendez and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson announced the news alongside Craig and other returning actors Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear (Tanner) and Naomie Harris (Moneypenny). Also introduced were Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott, playing new characters Oberhauser, Madeleine Swann, Mr. Hinx, Lucia Sciarra and Denbigh, respectively.
Mendez also unveiled the new Aston Martin DB10, which has been created exclusively for the film, and the first official poster, which references the classic SPECTRE Octopus logo seen in past Bond films.
The synopsis of the new film reads as follows:
“A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”
