The first Thor: Ragnarok teaser is here
Chris Hemsworth’s third solo Thor outing looks set to be a (Hulk) smash!
We’ve not got too long to wait until the first of 2017’s big Marvel films drops into cinemas with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, but that hasn’t stopped those crazy cats running the MCU from dropping the first teaser trailer for the third solo film in the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok.
First teased in the post-credits scene of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok sees the titular character imprisoned on an alien world, pitted against his friend and former ally, Hulk, in an epic gladiatorial bust-up, whilst attempting to stop the evil Hela (Cate Blanchett, The Lord of the Rings) from destroying his homeworld of Asgard and its people.
Hulk, you may remember, was last seen at the end of 2015’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron venturing off into the sunset in a stolen Quinjet, after ignoring a request from Black Widow to regroup with his fellow Avengers, so how he comes to be facing off against Thor is definitely a plot-twist the Screening team are looking forward to uncovering!

In addition to Blanchett, Ragnarok boasts an absolutely stellar cast, including Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and Karl Urban (Star Trek Beyond), as well as returning stars Idris Elba (The Jungle Book), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Tom Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island), Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) and Jaimie Alexander (Thor: The Dark World). We’ll also see the return of Thor’s buddy on Earth, Darryl, who some of you may remember the Asgardian was sharing a room with in Australia, hence why he wasn’t around during the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Carrying a definite 80s vibe (Marvel’s attempt at cashing in on the success of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Awesome Mix, maybe?), Thor: Ragnarok will be released on UK shores at the back end of the year – 27th October, to be precise!
