Fox dates Assassin’s Creed, Fantastic Four 2, Gambit and more
Fox has unveiled a slew of release dates for some of its most hotly anticipated movies.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the big screen adaptation of the hit video game franchise Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender, Fantastic Four 2 and the sequel to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have all been dated by Fox, along with Gambit, the latest X-Man to be given his own film.
- Gambit – October 7 2016
- Assassin’s Creed – December 21 2016
- Fantastic Four 2 – June 2 2017
- Planet of the Apes 3 – July 14 2017
There has been rumours that Gambit, who is to be played by Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street, Foxcatcher), will appear in the next X-Men movie, titled X-Men: Apocalypse – due to be released in cinemas on 19 May 2016 – but this is an unconfirmed rumour at the moment. The timing, however, would make sense, given Gambit’s new release date just five months after Apocalypse’s release.
The release dates for both the second, as-yet-untitled, sequel in the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise and Fantastic Four 2 have been altered from those originally announced, with Apes 3 seeing a delay of almost a year from July 29, 2016 to July 14, 2017 and the sequel to Josh Trank’s 2015 Fantastic Four reboot shifting from July 14, 2017 to June 2, 2017.
