Here’s what Thor was up to during Captain America: Civil War

Turns out Thor wasn’t quite where we all thought he was during the events of Captain America: Civil War

Although it wasn’t officially a team-up film, Captain America: Civil War featured pretty much every single one of the Avengers line-up as it currently stands, with two glaring omissions. One, The Hulk, is currently (we assume) lost in space, having turned his back on the human race at the end of 2015’s Age of Ulton for their own safety, and to prevent a recurrence of his behaviour in the same film, however we never really found out why neither Tony Stark or Steve Rogers didn’t try to recruit Thor to one of their teams.

Until now.

Turns out, everyone’s favourite Asgardian (unless you’re #TeamLoki, of course) wasn’t off saving another of the Nine Realms but was, in fact, Down Under, chilling out with his new pal Darryl and teaching kids all about his friends and past adventures on Earth! The above mockumentary, which was first shown at this year’s Comic-Con, has been released to coincide with the home video release of Captain America: Civil War, on which it’ll also be included as a bonus feature.

Marvel have never been ones to shy away from these amusing little skits and shorts, and they’ve produced a number of one-shot videos which explain or tease some backstory to link in with their main features, such as All Hail the King or Item 47, so it’s nice to see this trend continuing.

Of course, with Marvel’s ‘it’s all connected’ ethos, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that it’s looking very likely that Darryl isn’t just showing up in this Team Thor video, as the actor who plays him has been very active on Twitter, posting some behind-the-scenes photos of filming on the next instalment in the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok, which is due for release next year.

Either way, it looks like fans have found a new bromance to obsess over in the run-up to the next Marvel film on the release roster, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, which hits UK shores in this October.
