Jerry Bruckheimer today announced via Twitter that Kaya Scodelario, best known for her roles as Effy in the E4 teen drama Skins and, more recently, as Teresa in 2014’s The Maze Runner, will be joining the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Scodelario joins returning actor Johnny Depp, who is once again reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, as well as Australian newcomer Brendan Thwaites, in an as-yet-unnamed role.

Shooting on the fifth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is expected to begin next month in Australia, and will be directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning, with Bruckheimer returning to produce.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales currently has a release date of 7 July 2017.
