The first photo from the Fifty Shades sequel is here!

The Fifty Shades of Grey sequels have been greenlit.

At CinemaCon this past week, Universal Pictures have announced that two sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey have been greenlit by the studio and are currently in production. Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed have both been announced for Valentine’s Day 2017 and 2018, with the first photo from the former being released at the event.

Access Hollywood has the first look at Jamie Dornan in character as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Darker, which will be followed by a further look at the sequel on the home video release of Fifty Shades of Grey, due for release in the UK on 22 June 2015.

It was recently confirmed that director Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return to the franchise for the next two instalments, and while a replacement has yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that the husband of E.L. James – the author of the Fifty Shades novels – will be writing the screenplay for Fifty Shades Darker.
