The standard of animated films has come on in leaps and bounds in the past decade or so, and one of the stand-outs has to be 2003’s Finding Nemo, a film which we’ve got fond memories of, even to this day. The story of one fish’s struggle to navigate “the big blue” to save his kidnapped son is etched into our memories as one with heart, class, love and laughter throughout, so it’s fantastic to see movement on the sequel is hotting up.
Next year, the sequel to Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, hits cinemas around the world, and we’re certain that it’s going to be a sure-fire hit with both humans and aquatic creatures alike! After a teaser poster was glimpsed at D23 earlier in the year prior to a sizzle reel of footage shown to attendees, Finding Dory‘s first trailer has hit the Internet, giving us the first look at the film’s plot.
Finding Dory centres on Dory’s quest to discover where she came from by attempting to find her family, a journey which takes her to California and sees her discover new friends including Bailey, a white beluga whale; Destiny, a whale shark and Hank the octopus. Once again accompanied by Marlin and Nemo, Finding Dory takes place just six months after the events of Finding Nemo, and features the voice talents of Ellen Degeneres as Dory, Albert Brooks as Marlin and Hayden Rolence as Nemo, as well as introducing Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as Dory’s parents, Jenny and Charlie.
Finding Dory opens in the UK on 29 July 2016.
