We may be just around the corner from the latest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – this months’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, but that isn’t forcing the comic book powerhouse to neglect its other upcoming properties, and today we get a second full look at the final film in Phase Two of the MCU, Ant-Man.
Clocking in at just under two and a half minutes long, the new trailer, seen above, is the clearest indication yet of the film’s plot, which focuses on thief and con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) becoming the titular hero under the tutelage of Michael Douglas’s Hank Pym and Evangeline Lily’s Hope Van Dyne. Showcasing plenty of new action, the trailer also brings the first look at the film’s villain, Corey Stoll’s Yellowjacket. Fans of the MCU will also be pleased to hear that favourites Peggy Carter and Howard Stark will also make cameo appearances.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the full synopsis for Ant-Man reads:
With the ability to shrink in size but grow in strength, a con man (Paul Rudd) must help his mentor (Michael Douglas) protect the secret of his Ant-Man suit and pull off a heist that will save the world.
