Watch Billy Boyd’s music video for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Billy Boyd’s new song, ‘The Last Goodbye’, celebrates both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
In what must surely be a contender for ‘most circuitous narrative link of all time’, Billy Boyd’s (yes, that guy who played Pippin in The Lord of the Rings) music video for his original song, ‘The Last Goodbye’, has just premiered on YouTube and believe us when we say that it’s definitely an emotional roller coaster.
Celebrating 13 years of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies on film, the video includes both clips and behind-the-scenes footage from both sagas and is the perfect accompaniment to Boyd’s original song for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, ‘The Edge of Night’.
‘The Last Goodbye’ follows in the footsteps of Neil Finn’s ‘Song of the Lonely Mountain’ in An Unexpected Journey and Ed Sheeran’s I See Fire from The Desolation of Smaug and will play over the end credits of The Battle of the Five Armies, which opens in the UK on 12 December 2014.
