We may have only seen brief glimpses of her in the latest trailers for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and we’re still quite a number of months away from its debut, but production on the DC Cinematic Universe is apparently rolling on quite nicely.
Today, filming has commenced on the solo Wonder Woman film and its lead Gal Gadot has marked the occasion by giving us a glimpse of the titular character via Twitter.

Little is known about how much of a part Wonder Woman will have in Batman v. Superman, but we’re really excited to see the Amazonian in action, especially as it sounds like she’s going to be involved in some of the film’s larger set pieces, if rumours are to be believed.
In related news, the full cast list for Wonder Woman, as well as its official logo, has also been announced as filming gets underway. The official press release, released to Business Wire, reads as follows:
The film also stars Chris Pine (the “Star Trek” films) as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Danny Huston (“Clash of the Titans,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”), David Thewlis (the “Harry Potter” films, “The Theory of Everything”), Ewen Bremner (“Exodus: Gods and Kings,” “Snowpiercer”), Saïd Taghmaoui (“American Hustle”), Elena Anaya (“The Skin I Live In”) and Lucy Davis (“Shaun of the Dead”).
Wonder Woman is set to open in the UK on 23 June 2017.
