X-Men: Apocalypse finds its Angel.

Which ex-EastEnders actor has reported snagged the role?

Ben Hardy, who is most famous for his role as Peter Beale in the long-running BBC soap EastEnders has been cast as the new Angel, to be seen in X-Men: Apocalypse, according to The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider.

The actor was first revealed as one of the latest additions to the film’s cast back in February, but a specific role was kept under wraps until now, other than for Variety to report he would be playing a “well-known” character in the X-Men universe.

Director Bryan Singer teased the inclusion of Angel in the latest film via an Instagram post on March 31st, seen above, which shows the character in a cage whilst a group of onlookers gather around.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits UK cinemas on 19 May 2016 and stars returning X-Men alumni James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Professor X and Magneto, respectively. Conflicting reports have stated that original Magneto actor Ian McKellen will also star after co-star Patrick Stewart made the comments in an interview with The Oregonian, however an official confirmation of this has not been made.
